Flash-chilled iced tea

Hot concentrated tea poured through a strainer onto measured ice for immediate chilling.

Bright iced tea brewed to full aroma

Brew a concentrate hot, then chill it immediately over measured ice.

Starting point

Use roughly double normal leaf or reduce hot water so the melting ice completes the intended final volume.

What you need

  • Brewing vessel
  • Heat-safe pitcher
  • Scale
  • Plenty of ice

Method

  1. Measure the final water-plus-ice volume.
  2. Brew a controlled hot concentrate.
  3. Strain immediately over ice.
  4. Stir until evenly chilled.
  5. Serve without long warm holding.

Watch for

Ice is part of the recipe, not decoration. Weigh it or accept that each batch will dilute differently.
