Tea culture, from leaf to golden light.

Being Tea Co follows tea from living plant to finished leaf, then into the water, vessel, storage, ceremony, and shared table. The goal is not to make tea mysterious. It is to notice what matters.

What we mean by “golden light”

Golden light is Being Tea Co’s sensory language for a clear, luminous, balanced-looking infusion—especially the moment a well-prepared oolong or green tea catches the light. It is not a universal grade, a medical claim, or proof that caffeine has become safer. Dilution lowers concentration per sip; it does not remove the caffeine already extracted.

A practice of attention

Part of this project was shaped by personal experience at Deer Park Monastery in Escondido, California, in the Plum Village tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh. Those experiences deepened an appreciation for presence, community, and the space made by a shared cup.

Being Tea Co is independent. It is not an official teaching, program, affiliate, or representative of Deer Park Monastery, Plum Village, Thich Nhat Hanh, or their associated organizations.
